First it was Doga, then Goat Yoga, now there’s the chance to bring out your wild side with Lemoga.
Armathwaite Hall, the Lake District’s luxury hotel & spa set within 400 acres of private woodland and deer park on the edge of Bassenthwaite Lake near Keswick, launches the most ‘natural’ wellness experience yet: Lemoga. This personal yoga experience is available at the hotel’s adjoining Lake District Wild Life Park, heightening the sense of wellbeing for both lemur and human. With their friendly, outgoing personalities and love for human contact, lemurs make the perfect yoga buddies, helping people to laugh, unwind and stretch away their troubles.
Being members of the primate family, lemurs make great workout partners, helping to reduce stress and blood pressure in humans just by being in their presence. It is even thought that a small lemur-like creature may have been an early ancestor of humans.
Lemoga is part of Armathwaite Hall’s ‘meet the wildlife’ wellness programme which combines being amongst nature with mindful experiences. This also includes walks with Alpacas, Meet the Meerkats and Apprentice Keeper sessions.
The ‘Escape’ Lemoga Spa Break includes a Lemoga session including entrance to the Lake District Wildlife Park; overnight accommodation, breakfast and a three course dinner in the Brasserie plus full use of the spa between check in and check out and a 55 minute spa treatment.
For every Lemoga Spa Break booked, Armathwaite Hall will donate 10% to a Madagascan charity called SEED Madagascar. It is a charity managing a range of sustainable developments and conservation projects in Madagascar to help ease poverty in the country.

Launching Lemoga, Carolyn Graves, owner of Armathwaite Hall says “As a wellness destination, we are used to providing our guests with outdoor experiences which help relieve the symptoms of city living such as stress, sleep and pollution. Lemoga offers our guests the chance to feel at one with nature, at the same time joining in with the Lemurs’ play time.”
Renowned for its blissful lakeside setting and expansive natural scenery, Armathwaite Hall is the perfect location for breaks spent in nature, being active with hikes, canoeing and cycling all available on site. For more peaceful getaways, guests can follow up their Lemoga session by heading to Armathwaite Hall’s multi-award winning spa, where luxury wellness facilities meet a wide range of spa therapies like Indian Head Massages and Reflexology as well as indulgent Temple Spa treatments.
The ‘Escape’ Lemoga Spa Break costs £495.00 for 2 people sharing a room and is available Monday to Thursday. Entrance to the Lake District Wildlife Park and the Lemoga sessions take place at 10:30 am or 3:30 pm and are subject to weather conditions and availability.
