Mind Boosting Products

News

Although all of us at Spa PR have enjoyed the summer, it is safe to say the majority of the team love the autumn and winter seasons and find the idea of cosying down irresistible! That said, lots of Brits don’t find the transition as easy and struggle heading into the colder and darker months. With World Mental Health Day this month, it reminds us to be more conscious of keeping our mind and body in balance which is why the team have outlined some of their favourite mood boosting beauty products. While mental health issues need professional help, for those of us who just need a little mood booster, here are our recommendations.

Organic Series Red Wine Algae Mask – RRP £17, available from organicseries.co.uk

red packaged product

Our brand new client Organic Series has just arrived from Poland and we’re in love with the extensive product range. In particular, the Organic Series Red Wine Algae Mask lifts, revitalises and removes toxins. It clearly brightens the skin and soothes irritations, and thanks to the unique combination of red vine leaf extract and vitamin E, neutralises free radicals. It has an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect and protects sensitive skin from the harmful effects of UV radiation. Apply all over the face as well as over the eyes for the ultimate switch off. Peel off and reveal refreshed skin. All this with no hangover!

Westlab Magnesium Bath Salts – RRP £5.99, available from westlabsalts.co.uk

Provide a natural ‘stress-buster’ and help to ease symptoms of anxiety and increase serotonin levels with Westlab Magnesium Flakes.

Penny Hamilton, Co-Founder of Westlab and Salt Specialist says “Magnesium is vital in supporting relaxation and sleep as it plays an essential role in the production of Serotonin (the happy hormone), the regulation of Melatonin (the sleep hormone) and the reduction of Cortisol (the stress hormone) in the body.”

Magnesium is best absorbed transdermally (through the skin), making a relaxing soak with Westlab’s Magnesium Flakes the go-to option.

Dr. Bronner’s Citrus Castile Soap -RRP from £8.49, available from https://shop.drbronner.co.uk

If you don’t have time for a bath, an uplifting shower is a great way to start the day, especially as the winter draws in and the dark morning makes it hard to get out of bed. Try Dr. Bronner’s Citrus Castile Soap, fresh and bright with an invigorating blend of organic orange, lemon and lime oils. The soap contains citrus essential oil, which is widely used for its uplifting impact and is said to help reduce stress. The orange oil is extracted from the outer part of the orange peel, and the orange oil is further concentrated through a technique called “folding” resulting in a richer, juicy fragrance.

Urtekram’s Tune In Soothing Lavender Body Lotion RRP £6.99, available from The Fragrance Shop

Urtekram’s Tune In Lavender Body Lotion is a hydrating, nourishing lotion for a long lasting silky soft feeling. Pamper your skin with moisturising, hydrating ingredients such as aloe vera, shea butter and natural oils, whilst wrapping it in an appealing scent of lovely lavender. Applied before bed, the soft lavender scent will help you drift off to sleep for a deep and peaceful sleep.

Mavala’s Pastel Fiesta Collection – RRP £5.50 each via nailpolishdirect.co.uk

Painting your nails not only forces you to take some time for yourself but can also boost your mood due to feeling self-confident. Pastel blue and muted green walls are a common feature in many hospitals around the world, and for good reason. These colours are thought to have a positive psychological impact on patients, boosting their mood, stabilising blood pressure, reducing stress and anxiety and, in turn, speeding up their recovery. Mavala’s Pastel Fiesta collection contains a number of soft and stunning shades that will make you smile every time you catch a flash of your hands. Gotland was definitely a favourite amongst beauty editors this Spring, but which one would you pick?
