Pet-centric Breaks

News

It’s no secret that many people love their pets just as much as many love their children, even choosing to take pets on their family vacations. With Forbes identifying Pet Travel as one of the travel trends to expect in 2020, there is pressure on hotels and holiday resorts to accommodate special amenities, pet-friendly activities and even eateries during their visit.

Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa, located in the Northern Lake District, has recently launched its Canine Cuisine which allows furry friends to join their human companions in a full dining experience. With a special menu curated especially for dogs’ dietary needs, owners can choose from hot, freshly prepared options to healthy, dry food.

Those looking to treat their canine to an extravagant experience, the ‘A La Canine’ menu allows dogs to indulge in a warming dish of either chicken or sausage, paired with fresh vegetables and gravy. Alternatively, Armathwaite Hall’s doggy ‘dish of the day’ offers a range of sophisticated, dry food with high energy content. Dogs can dine in style with options including salmon with trout paired with sweet potato and asparagus, angus beef with sweet potato and carrot or chicken with sweet potato and herbs.

Working with West Cumberland Farmers to provide their range of Lakeland Heritage dry dog food, the range is formulated with dairy, soya and grains. Containing at least 50% meat or fish and vegetables, owners can relax knowing their pets are enjoying a healthy meal which is hypo allergenic and suitable for sensitive digestions.

For those canines not used to being away from home, meals can be served in their own dog bowl for a sense of comfort, alternatively bowls are able to be provided by the restaurant.

The luxury hotel destination, on the outskirts of Keswick, is also a dog-friendly destination which welcomes V.I.Ps (Very Important Pooches) into a selected number of hotel bedrooms suitable for furry friends. Within these rooms, owners can find a comfortable dog bed, cushion, treats and waste bags. With all rooms located on the ground floor and opening onto patio areas and gardens, there is plenty of room for a quick run-around. The grand stately home is also nestled in 400 acres of private deer park and woodland, perfect for even the most energetic canine.

Making the most of their visit, well-behaved dogs can join adult’s conversation in the Hall Lounge from 10am – 7pm daily, allowing their owners a chance to unwind and enjoy their stay fully.

Those messy canines needing a spot of TLC, Armathwaite Hall offers an additional dog grooming service to leave canines looking tidy and refreshed. Supplied by The Dog Room Cockermouth, pooches will receive the royal treatment with the package including full shampoo and conditioner, blow dry, tidy up and transport to and from the hotel.
