Sustainable Beauty

Making the most of nature’s bounty doesn’t need to cost the earth, and it is possible to create exceptional beauty products that are as good to planet as they are to the skin. For over 10 years, VOYA has led the way for results-driven, certified organic skincare worldwide by harnessing the endless restorative and healing powers of seaweed without compromising on sustainable ways of doing business.

The evolving VOYA range includes over 60 products – containing the perfect blend of hand-harvested seaweed, powerful organic antioxidants and soothing essential oils – to help improve health, skin and well being. VOYA’s renowned, award-winning products and treatments are made without mineral oils, GM ingredients or synthetic colours, fragrances and preservatives and have raised people’s expectations of organic skincare into something exceptional, luxurious, and very effective.

The VOYA product range includes several body and bath products designed to heal, hydrate and richly nourish skin, such as the iconic Lazy Days Seaweed Bath, which hydrates and re-mineralises the body and is the ultimate way to experience VOYA. The brand also offers several facial skincare products for Dry, Sensitive and Combination skin types, including the best-selling My Little Hero Facial Serum, which is packed with antioxidants, to improve radiance and brighten dull skin.

With innovation integrity and respect for the sea at the heart of their business, VOYA uses sustainable and conservative harvesting practices when extracting seaweed. This ensures no damage is caused to the beautiful coastline of County Sligo, Ireland or to its precious flora.

The expert harvesting team check the tide levels of the Atlantic Ocean weeks in advance to strategically plan which type of seaweed to harvest based on tides and weather conditions. They then select the seaweed by eye and harvest it by hand, using no machinery to ensure that the delicate seabed is left unharmed. Furthermore, only a small portion of the seaweed is cut at a time to ensure regrowth within 6 – 24 months. The harvesters, like farmers move on to different parts of the reef to allow their cherished natural resource to replenish, thus creating sustainable harvesting.

The brand’s commitment to organic and sustainable ways of doing business extends from shore to shelf, as VOYA voluntarily submits their products to be certified by the organic standards of both the Irish Organic Farmers and Growers Association (IOFGA) and the Soil Association (70% Organic Ingredients). This means when you buy a VOYA wellbeing or skincare product or have a VOYA therapy, you can be sure that it has been independently verified as organic.

Other sustainability initiatives include:

  • Product Packaging: VOYA ‘s products are packaged using recycled, recyclable or biodegradable materials.
  • Cruelty-Free: VOYA is opposed to the practice of animal testing in cosmetics research
  • VOYA has helped protect over 6,098 m2 of world wildlife habitat by cutting its carbon emissions and supporting the World Land Trust (WLT), an international conservation charity which protects the world’s most biologically important and threatened habitats acre by acre.
